Spinal Cord Injury
Even if the ability to move below the level of paralysis is impaired, targeted physiotherapeutic interventions can be used to strengthen the muscles, improve blood circulation and maximise the function of the remaining motor skills.
Physiotherapy also helps to support mobility, for example through the use of aids and gait training, and to optimise the function of the rest of the body. An individually tailored therapy programme helps to improve quality of life and enable the patient to return to a life that is as active and self-determined as possible.
