Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain and spinal cord and usually begins in early adulthood. The disease still leaves many questions unanswered and its course, symptoms and therapeutic success vary so much from patient to patient that generalised statements can only be made to a limited extent. For this reason, MS is also known as the ‘disease with a thousand faces’.
Examples of frequently occurring symptoms:
- Fatigue
- Numbness and tingling sensations
- Loss of balance and dizziness
- Stiffness or cramps
- Tremors
- Pain
- Bladder issues
- Intestinal issues
- Visual impairment
- Problems with memory, thought or concentration
A personalised treatment plan helps to promote independence, maintain daily living skills and control fatigue - crucial for an active and independent lifestyle despite MS.
Statistically speaking, people with MS are already significantly less active at the time of diagnosis than people without the disease. Inactivity leads to muscle loss, reduced strength and endurance and can therefore lead to a worsening of MS symptoms.
Physiotherapy can help you to reduce symptoms such as fatigue through well-dosed exercises and targeted guidance on physical activity.
Improve your stamina and lead an active and self-determined life despite MS!
