Meet The Team

Katharina Brassington - Owner - Principal Physiotherapist
Katharina completed her training as a physiotherapist in Wasserburg am Inn and then worked in the specialist clinic in Lenggries and Asklepios Bad Tölz in the field of neurological rehabilitation
She then spent a long time in Sydney, Australia, where she treated a wide range of neurological patients at the Advance Rehab Centre (a leading multidisciplinary neurological rehabilitation practice). The team placed great emphasis on weekly training and further education in order to be able to offer the latest, innovative therapy methods.
Katharina was part of the management team at the Advance Rehab Centre as the therapy assistants manager. She led an in-house quality management project for the treatment of people with multiple sclerosis and contributed to the training of therapists in this field.
As a licensed PD Warrior® trainer, she uses innovative therapy methods to promote neuroplasticity in Parkinson's and trains physiotherapists, occupational therapists and sports scientists in the treatment of people with Parkinson's using the PD Warrior® concept.
Another of her professional interests is the treatment of people with functional neurological disorders (also known as conversion disorder or dissociative disorder), as the diagnosis is often still misunderstood and inadequately treated.
Since returning home, Katharina has been running BMK Neuro Physio, a mobile physiotherapy practice in the Bad Tölz - Isarwinkel area together with her husband Mark, which offers home visits for people with neurological conditions - soon with its own practice rooms.

Mark Brassington - Owner - Business Manager
Mark has worked internationally and locally in a number of different roles and industries over the last 30 years. He began his career as a chef in places such as Sydney, Whistler, Toronto, Kitzbühl and Zurich, in major hotels and award-winning restaurants.
In 2007, it was time for a change and so he began training as an outdoor educator and adventure guide. This led to him leading one-day or multi-day tours/outdoor education programmes.
He also led month-long expeditions to various countries around the globe. During this time Mark started and completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Adventure Ecotourism and subsequently a Master of Business Administration with a specialisation in Operations Management.
Not long after returning to Australia in 2017, Mark began working as a programme and events manager, which then led to the role of operations manager and eventually operations, quality and safety manager.
Having worked in various industries and roles, Mark is motivated to use his diverse skills and experience to see BMK Neuro Physio grow and help those in need of specialised care for neurological conditions.
